My Story
In 2019, two enthusiastic high schoolers founded the Bigstar Chess Club, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and encouraging the learning and playing of chess for children in the local community. The club’s mission is to help foster intellectual development through chess, as scientific studies have shown that the game supports the development of higher-order thinking skills such as problem-solving, decision-making, critical thinking, planning, and creativity.

Co-Founder Pugazh Saravanan
As the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of BigStar Chess Club, Pugazhendhi Saravanan Jr. has been involved in chess since the age of four, winning various regional and state chess tournaments across the country.
Co-Founder Kavin Saravanan
As a Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of BigStar Chess Club, Kavin Saravanan draws on over a decade of experience playing chess, beginning at the age of five. Kavin's passion for the game lies
